JOB OVERVIEW

The Assistant Media Planner supports the Media team in the execution and daily maintenance of media campaigns, including but not limited to, support in media plan development, reporting and invoicing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Budget and Billing
  • Maintain budget and billing documents, assist with tracking media expenditures to ensure agency and client budget compliance and works with Media Planner to analyze billing discrepancies.
Administrative
  • Create, edit and review flowcharts prior to issuance with supervisor
Administrative
  • Update traffic worksheets, issues insertion orders, maintain contracts with publications for advertising space, compile data base on product journal advertising for account groups
Administrative
  • Update status reports for team and ensures accuracy


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    AT LEVEL:
  • Media Plan Flowcharts--> Create and edit flowcharts as necessary.--> Make sure to review with Supervisor prior to issuance.--> Include and update all team members when issuing media plan flowcharts.
  • Budget and billing documents.--> Make sure to review with Supervisor prior to issuance of media plan flowcharts.
  • PO Numbers--> Make sure all PO numbers are updated in MBOX for all authorizations.--> Include and update all team members when issuing PO numbers
  • Bring most recent flowcharts and budget documents to every meeting and be prepared to answer budget questions.
  • Traffic Workbooks--> Create and maintain all traffic workbooks.--> Issue Creative Agency.--> Point person for the Assistant Account Executive at Creative Agency.--> Issue Insertion Orders.--> Update Traffic Sheets.--> Make sure tags are implemented properly.--> Work with Creative Agency to make sure right creative is being used.--> Provide weekly updates to Planner on plan performance.
  • Status Reports.--> Update status sheets and issue once.
  • Utilize Research Tools.--> Manhattan Research.--> SRDS.--> Pull competitive reports using KANTAR and eValiant.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs.
  • Meet with multi-channel sales reps.LEVEL PLUS:
  • Prepare competitive presentations and present, if needed.
  • Write Point of Views as needed on media programs and / or channels.
  • Lead Status Meetings.
  • Provide input for Media Plan Development as needed.
  • Manage Brand Budgets.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficient in advanced functions and formulas to perform VLOOKUP, pivot tables, charts, graphs and data capture
