FCB-X Account Director with Sports Sponsorship Expertise

The FCB- X Account Director is the agency’s commissioner at the client. We are looking for an expert in Sports marketing and sponsorship. This person takes a leadership role in strategy, negotiation and creative development and ensures that everything we do links back to our sponsorship strategy and client’s business goals. The Account Director is a proactive and effective partner with all cross-functional team members including media, PR, Social and advertising. This candidate needs to have strong leadership abilities and can build a team, champion ideas, inspire great work, and effectively promote and persuade the agency POV to the client. We also need someone who knows a good idea when they see it! Lastly, we’re looking for someone who is not only a sports fan, but who is authentically passionate about sports. 
The Position 

  • Utilizes interpersonal savvy and business acumen to rally internal and external Agency resources to help bring long-term, strategic sports sponsorship recommendations to life 
  • Sees the client business through a 360-degree lens and identifies out-of-the box ideas and opportunities to integrate and expand into other disciplines 

  • Builds one-on-one relationships with senior level clients to foster a partnership with the agency and is the agency lead for day-to-day seamless program management and activation 

  • Manages needs of team members to maximize learning and productivity while minimizing turnover 

  • Has experience working with a highly matrixed client organization 

  • Adopts a proactive approach to anticipating internal and external concerns 

  • Provides in-depth analysis of results and reports back to agency team and client

  • Has the ability to provide big picture strategic thinking, vision and insights to drive big ideas and initiatives 

  • Possesses collaborative leadership skills that encourage team cooperation and motivate relationship-building 

  • Is self-confident in oral, written, strategic and analytical abilities 

  • Demonstrates strong, fully developed staff management and partnership abilities 

  • Exhibits a sincere passion for sports—whether a player or a fan 

  • Embraces the gray—able to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment 

  • Has genuine interest in integrated and sponsorship marketing and ability to understand the client’s business relationship between their agency partners, sports properties, local and national marketing teams and consumers 

  • Possesses an integrated marketing background with proven experience leading an integrated marketing team including online/offline activation, Social, PR, Media and sports 

  • Has earned a Bachelor’s degree with 8 to 10 years of total industry experience and 3+ years of agency sports sponsorship background and/or sports activation expertise. 

  • Experience with professional and/or collegiate properties- in stadium promotions and creative management or oversight a big plus.
