 Lead the development of marketing communication strategies for multiple pharma brands/clients and be responsible for ensuring that the voice of the customer is integrated into communication strategy for new and existing business opportunities.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand and monitor variety of therapeutic areas and treatment trends (and ability to rapidly come up to speed on new therapeutic areas for new business opportunities)
  • Demonstrate strong experience and expertise in various therapeutic areas
  • Partner with Scientific Services, especially for high science brands (to understand and speak intelligently to the science of the brand)
  • Understand and monitor new and pipeline competitors – strengths, weaknesses and areas of opportunity and threat for client brand
  • Delineate the key customer insight upon which communications and strategy can be based
  • Understand and monitor attitudes, practices and behaviors of the target customer  
  • Identify drivers and barriers of behavior and leverage points for change
  • Demonstrate primary and secondary research prowess
  • Conduct comprehensive literature and internet searches
  • Design and conduct primary market research studies to uncover critical insights for both new and existing business (e.g. identify KOLs, moderate KOL and community practice interviews, recommend and employ projective research techniques, etc.)
  • Consult clients on market research design, methodology and results (qual and quant)
  • Assess impact of client provided secondary data (e.g. Rx data, sales data, etc.)
  • Demonstrate strong level of understanding of pharmaceutical brand marketing and promotional strategy to provide strategic recommendations to account/creative teams and clients
  • Lead brand positioning development
  • Lead creative brief development
  • Leverage pharma industry experience and expertise 
  • Lead client workshops (e.g. positioning workshops, etc.); lead in designing, facilitating and moderating workshops to achieve client goals
  • Work hand in hand with account and creative teams on new business pitches and existing business  


COMPULSORIES

  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience: marketing, advertising, market research, consulting
  • Strategic planning experience (pharmaceutical advertising) preferred
  • Advanced degree preferred 
  • Proactive, dynamic, hard-working, entrepreneurial
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong client service skills (for both internal account/creative teams and external clients)
  • Proficient multi-tasker – able to handle assigned projects as well as consulting within department
  • Team player attitude
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Travel requirements: Approximately 15-25% travel (market research, client meetings, conferences, etc.)
  • Oncology experience a MUST
