The Sr. Design Director is responsible for leading the creative aspects of the brand development process. He/she will collaborate with the Brand Strategist in the creation of the design strategy and will lead the creation of brand identity assets and guidelines.

 

The Sr. Design Director must understand customer insights as it relates to building brand perception and experiences for a brand through visual, verbal and sensory identity.

 

The Sr. Design Director works closely with other Branding Directors, the SVP Creative Director and strategy team to create on-brand design solutions. This person will also need to direct the design process, setting appropriate creative direction to help achieve the vision for the brand.

 

He/she will be the agency expert on brandmark and brand identity system design, brand architecture, brand identity guidelines and implementation. He/she will be asked to participate in strategic workshops such as Brand Personality, Brand Purpose, and Naming Brainstorming. He/she must possess proficient presentation skills and be able to express creative thinking and branding point of views.

 

The Sr. Design Director is responsible for overseeing all finished art files (for assigned accounts) for release to client and/or vendor. He/she will also help put together new business presentations, as well as collaborate with the account team members in estimating budgets and timing for projects. He/she will supervise, mentor and inspire designers on the team. The Sr. Branding Director will help recruit new talent for the group and is responsible for helping grow the group’s core capabilities, relationships, and profitability.

• Prepares creative branding rationales to ensure understanding and acceptance of ideas.

 

• Presents and sells creative thinking and design solutions to communication challenges to internal teams and external clients.

 

• Delivers innovative design solutions within given budgets and timelines.

 

• Builds and maintains brand architectures and design themes.

 

• Builds competitive audits and produces branding recommendations based on market opportunities.

 

• Defends strength of ideas while remaining open to alternatives and further explorations that may be deemed more effective or appropriate.

 

• Performs all functions and responsibilities of Senior Designers and Designers when called upon to do so.

 

• Conducts performance reviews on Senior Designers and Designers and makes recommendations for their career progress.

 

• Helps to instill integration of the FCB company’s philosophy and innovations with clients and agency staff.

 

• Recognizes areas where innovative thinking could lead to Agency progress.
