The Data Scientist role is responsible for conceptualizing, designing & delivering data driven solutions for the marketing science team to include identification/quantification, segmentation/targeting, natural language processing (NLP), statistical and machine learning models, network analysis and other general data asks. The role works closely with marketing/acct management, media, strategic planning and creative teams to plan, execute and evaluate a broad range of strategic marketing initiatives and programs.  This role can have significant client interaction and at times will require the explanation of complex technical ideas in plain language.





             Manage and execute data science projects including scoping and managing timelines, as well as carrying out analyses that apply various technical methodologies

             Collaborate with teams across the agency network as well as client partners, to gather requirements and present learnings

             Provide thought leadership with regards to new applications of data science to marketing challenges

             Advise on data strategy to maintain and grow our in-house data stack by reviewing partners and assessing opportunities


             Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics,  Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, Bio-Informatics or engineering field. 

             3+ years of work experience in an analytics, 1+ years in a data science related role



Technical skills

             Ability to write code in R, Python, SQL

             Ability to create and run ETL with databases

             Familiarity with Unix and Bash Shell scripting is preferred

             Familiarity with Hadoop (Hive, Spark, etc.) is a plus

             Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript is a plus



Analytical skills

             Expertise in one of the following preferred: Data visualization, front-end development, big data processing and data engineering, predictive modeling, NLP/NLG, AI, network analysis, econometric modeling or geospatial analysis.

             Competency in analytic techniques such as: time series data analysis, segmentation, univariate & multivariate statistical analysis, various metrics and key performance indicators, research & test design, significance testing, variance and growth calculations, forecasting, return on investment.

             Strong data-munging skills and understanding of how to ingest audit and organize structured and unstructured datasets.

             Familiarity with media & web site analysis tools and vendors, including both quantitative tracking and research methodologies (DART, Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, comScore, Dynamic Logic, etc.) is a plus.

*             Must be able to travel domestically to client and partner locations (estimate: 20-50%)

*             Certain projects/engagements may require working weekends
