Area 23 is seeking an Account Director to join their dynamic team. The Account Director is responsible for supervising her/his account teams and their resources. Central to the Account Director’s responsibility is ensuring strategic and scientific integrity and training the account team in this regard. The individual is responsible for development of ongoing business on their accounts and assisting with and identifying other new business development opportunities (organic growth).

We are looking for thoughtful, creative and energetic leaders to manage several different accounts across our network. These are all HCP& DTC  focused accounts that span high sciences, low sciences; US and/or global; with some being on the brink of launching while others are more mature in their lifecycle. We need big, innovative thinkers that clients consider a true business partner. People who successfully build relationships and inspire clients to push further, try new things and take chances, are paramount to our culture. Formidable strategic leaders that can develop and drive communication plans that deliver on real business goals need apply here! More specifics below of what we are in need of:
  • Proven ability to provide big-picture strategic thinking, vision and insights to drive potent ideas and put them into action; this includes the development of accountable marketing plans that deliver business results
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment with confidence and poise
  • Able to manage needs of team members to maximize learning, personal development and productivity
  • Responsible for performance reviews, rotating staff and evaluating staffing needs 
  • Experience driving cross-agency integrated marketing programs by taking a leadership role in multi-agency briefs, working sessions with key partners and overall campaign development
  • A collaborative leadership style that promotes team cooperation, relationship building, integration and inclusion
  • Responsible for account P&L, account growth, client satisfaction and retention
  • Responsible for the development of client staff plans, statements of work and compensation agreements
  • Self-confidence in oral, written, strategic and analytical abilities
  • Integrated background and working knowledge of all media
  • Able to see the world through two lenses: creativity AND accountability
  • International or Global experience is a plus

the Compulsories
  • 7+ years’ experience in an agency environment with a specific focus on pharma
  • True leadership skills, including the ability to inspire creatives, lead c-level clients, help set strategic marketing vision for our clients, and get stuff done
  • Thrive operationally despite working within a rapidly changing field and client environment
  • A passion for great creative and a proven track record of helping develop innovative advertising and communications
